The #FightToVote: AB 918 and CA’s Quiet Voting Rights Challenge

While Trump’s voter fraud propaganda may grab all the national headlines, the voting rights program at Advancing Justice - Asian Law Caucus has been busy pushing voting rights forward here in California.  As home to the largest population of immigrant and limited-English speaking voters in the nation, our state should be leading in the fight for a diverse and inclusive democracy.  The Asian Law Caucus is partnering with Assemblymember Rob Bonta (AD-18) on the CA Voting for All Act (AB 918).  The bill, which passed the legislature last week and is now on Governor Jerry Brown’s desk, would make California the nationwide leader in ensuring access to the ballot for limited-English speaking immigrant voters.  Come learn about the bill and how to take action to make sure it becomes law.

Hosted by Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Asian Law Caucus

Protect the Vote, with Jason Kander (San Francisco)

Join INFORUM, Jason Kander (President, Let America Vote) and CA Secretary of State Alex Padilla for a conversation about the vital role of civic engagement in our democracy and the need to ensure that all eligible citizens are able to exercise their constitutional right to cast their ballot.  Recently, Kander launched Let America Vote, a political organization dedicated to leading the fight for voting rights.  Specifically, Let America Vote focuses on combating state and national laws that it believes are intended to disproportionately disenfranchise people based on their race, ethnicity, gender, age or income.  The organization ensures that there are political consequences for elected officials who defend prohibitive voting laws.  This is a ticketed event.
