P.J.'s Deportation Hearing Support (San Francisco)

  • 630 Sansome Street San Francisco, CA, 94111 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Borey “PJ” Ai may be one of the most accomplished persons you will ever meet. He also happens to be one of the youngest persons to be given a life sentence, at age 14. After spending 20 years in prison, he was found suitable for parole at his first hearing. Self-described as being “stateless,” Ai was born in a refugee camp in Thailand to parents who escaped the genocide in Cambodia. “Almost 98 percent of my family were butchered in the genocide,” said Ai, during an interview. When he was 5, Ai and his family immigrated to America, settling into a rough Stockton neighborhood. Borey Ai was found suitable for parole on July 22. Upon being released from state custody in November, Ai was immediately detained for deportation, never having the opportunity to return to his family in Stockon. Hastings Prisoner Outreach, HSIR, and the Hastings NLG chapter are asking you to come to the hearing in order to show support. The hearing is a merits hearing to decide whether PJ qualifies for withholding of removal under the Convention Against Torture. The more people that attend, the better.

Letters of support for PJ should be sent to
Todd Davis,
Immigration Clinic
USC Gould School of law
699 Exposition Blvd
Los Angeles, CA. 90089

Bay to Breakers (San Francisco)

San Francisco’s Alaska Airlines Bay to Breakers has run continuously for 105 years as a staple to the City by the Bay.

With a starting point near the San Francisco Bay, a few blocks from The Embarcadero, the 12K race runs west through the city and finishes at the Great Highway where breakers crash onto the Pacific Coast’s Ocean Beach. A quintessential San Francisco experience since 1912, the race is interwoven into the fabric of the city and is a true reflection and celebration of life between the breakers and the Bay.

Mothers Fighting Together for Housing and Shelter

1 in 25 public school children are homeless. The city forces children and pregnant women to stay on the streets just to get a shelter bed! They have not provided enough dignified, affordable housing to families; we demand 500 housing subsidies, 2 new shelters, and a halt to forcing families to stay on the streets to access shelter! Join us as we celebrate Mother's Day and fight for housing and human rights!

Questions? Contact Miguel at or (415)346-3740x319
