Visualizing Sea-Level Rise (Berkeley)

CESP will create a scientifically accurate educational display to show where the new shoreline will be after 2-meters of sea rise. The event aims to engage the public in a dynamic visual display to show where the new shoreline will be, if we do nothing to address sea level rise.

Where: McLaughlin Eastshore State Park, meet at the corner of University Ave. and Frontage Rd., Berkeley

Email cespmanager@eastshorepark.org to get involved.

The Resilient Shoreline Program is a natural extension of CESP's 30-year effort to protect open space and develop a unified shoreline park along the Bay's eastern shoreline.

This year we will offer programs to increase public awareness about climate change and its impact on the Bay shoreline and continue to organize a Grand Coalition of public leaders to implement timely solutions.

This campaign combines advocacy, science and education. Hosted by Citizens for East Shore Parks

Monuments for All Postcard Campaign (From Your Home)

DETAILS:

On April 26, Trump signed an Executive Order threatening more than 1 billion acres of our treasured public lands with logging, mining, drilling and more. More than 50 national monuments are at risk, from Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears in Utah to ocean sanctuaries. On May 24, let's flood Interior Secretary Zinke and our three members of Congress with postcards demanding that they protect our public lands. Stock up on postcards and stamps, invite your friends to a postcard writing party, take postcards to meetings.

The public comment period opened on May 12 and we have until MAY 26 TO SUBMIT COMMENTS FOR BEARS EARS. We have longer for the other 26 monuments. Talking points will be introduced for each monument so that you can submit a meaningful and unique public comment.

NATIONAL POSTCARD WRITE IN DAY IS MAY 24! That is the day we flood the Secretary of the Interior and our members of Congress with postcards demanding that they protect our treasured landscapes - places like Bears Ears in Utah, Giant Sequoia in California, Grand Canyon-Parashant in Arizona - from drilling, mining and logging.

Trump's April 26 Executive Order puts 27 monuments at risk. Please join us by clicking GOING or INTERESTED and please share! #MonumentsForAll #MyMonuments
