Get Voters to the Polls in MODESTO

Join us to knock on doors and GET OUT THE VOTE in CA-10! Canvassing is easy, and it's the most effective tactic for winning elections. So, thank you for taking time to talk with voters in this key Swing District! It's okay if you've never done this before -- we will have a training at the beginning. Then, we'll pair up to talk with residents about the primary election on Tuesday, June 5th, and the importance of voting.

Select a four-hour shift (or all the shifts!) from the checkboxes on the RSVP form that works for you!

  • Shift 1: 9am-1pm
  • Shift 2: 1-4pm
  • Shift 3: 4-8pm

Hey, when you RSVP, please include your email address and phone number so we can provide updates and contact you during the canvass. We won't share the info, but we really need to be able to reach you.

Tips for an awesome canvass experience:

  • bring a carload of your friends and your smile!
  • definitely bring your smartphone (or a tablet works, too)
  • download the PDI Mobile Connect app (there are instructions for this on the confirmation page)
  • your water bottle
  • sunscreen & hat
  • and of course, comfortable shoes for walking
  • Everything else you need will be provided, including snacks and extra water.

P.J.'s Deportation Hearing Support (San Francisco)

  • 630 Sansome Street San Francisco, CA, 94111 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Borey “PJ” Ai may be one of the most accomplished persons you will ever meet. He also happens to be one of the youngest persons to be given a life sentence, at age 14. After spending 20 years in prison, he was found suitable for parole at his first hearing. Self-described as being “stateless,” Ai was born in a refugee camp in Thailand to parents who escaped the genocide in Cambodia. “Almost 98 percent of my family were butchered in the genocide,” said Ai, during an interview. When he was 5, Ai and his family immigrated to America, settling into a rough Stockton neighborhood. Borey Ai was found suitable for parole on July 22. Upon being released from state custody in November, Ai was immediately detained for deportation, never having the opportunity to return to his family in Stockon. Hastings Prisoner Outreach, HSIR, and the Hastings NLG chapter are asking you to come to the hearing in order to show support. The hearing is a merits hearing to decide whether PJ qualifies for withholding of removal under the Convention Against Torture. The more people that attend, the better.

YOU CAN ALSO SEND A LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR P.J.:

Letters of support for PJ should be sent to
