Please Join Indivisible East Bay and the Unity Council for a discussion with Senator Feinstein's state director! So please come and bring your questions and concerns for her state director to answer and/or pass along to his boss.

Free and open to the public. RSVP preferred, but not necessary. The Fruitvale San Antonio Senior Center is close to Fruitvale BART. Light refreshments will be served. Accessible, children welcome. We are looking for a Spanish translator and will update when we confirm one.

Nobody is Above the Law (San Francisco)

Hosted by Indivisible San Francisco

https://act.moveon.org/event/mueller-firing-rapid-response/13255/signup/?source=&s=

NOTE: THE TIME AND DATE OF THIS EVENT ARE PLACEHOLDERS

If Trump finds a way to remove Robert Mueller and/or shuts down the Russian investigation, we will respond by taking to the streets IMMEDIATELY.

If you haven't already, please download the Amplify app (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/amplify-by-civic-tools/id1202418572?mt=8) and enable notifiactions.

Also, be sure to sign up for the IndivisibleSF email list (http://indivisiblesf.us15.list-manage2.com/subscribe?u=73fb02fb07fff33c1c46ee68f&id=29b5ace6f2).

Should this event happen, we will send out notifications and begin an instant mobilization.

Donald Trump is publicly considering firing special counsel Robert Mueller, the person leading the Department of Justice investigation of possible illegal actions by Donald Trump and members of his presidential campaign, and the efforts to conceal those activities.

This would be a constitutional crisis for our country. It would demand an immediate and unequivocal response to show that we will not tolerate abuse of power from Donald Trump.

Our response in the minutes and hours following a power grab will dictate what happens next, and whether Congress—the only body with the constitutional power and obligation to rein Trump in from his rampage—will do anything to stand up to him.

That's why we're preparing to hold emergency "Nobody is Above the Law" rallies around the country in the event they are needed.

Use the map or search below by ZIP code to find an event near you: https://act.moveon.org/event/mueller-firing-rapid-response-events/search/

The San Francisco event will happen IMMEDIATATELY at Civic Center Plaza, should 45 fire Mueller.

San Francisco MoveOn event page: https://act.moveon.org/event/mueller-firing-rapid-response/13255/signup/?source&s

Our rally will begin minutes after news breaks of a Mueller firing:

This is our moment to stand up to protect our democracy. Let's mobilize to show that we won't let Donald Trump become the authoritarian that he aspires to be. The law applies to all of us, and it's essential that it also applies to the most powerful people in our country.

If you choose to attend an event, you agree to engage in nonviolent, peaceful action, to act lawfully, and to strive to de-escalate any potential confrontations with those who may disagree with our values.

Defeat the #TrumpTaxScam: National day of action (online, by phone, or in person)

The Senate comes back from recess today and they have one goal: pass tax cuts for their billionaire donors and wealthy families like the Trumps. That means we have just one weekly to-do for you this week: defeat the #TrumpTaxScam.

The Senate is expected to vote on the Motion to Proceed (a pre-vote vote) as early as Wednesday and they could take a final vote as early as Friday.

The only reason defeating this bill is remotely possible is because of you. With full control over both chambers of Congress and the White House, the Republicans’ agenda (health care repeal, this scammy tax bill, and more) should’ve been easy for them to pass. But at each and every turn, your constituent pressure has stopped them in their tracks. And the GOP is feeling the heat from their donors because you’ve ground their agenda to a halt.

Now, just like with healthcare, if we make some noise, show up, and put relentless pressure on our members of Congress, we can win. Here’s how we do it:

Show up.

Make a call.

  • We’ve set up a toll-free number to make it easier to call your Senators at 1-855-980-2350. That number will connect you to one of your Senators and, if you call back again, it’ll automatically connect you to your other Senator.
  • If you have a Republican Senator, use our call scripts to inform your conversation. Republicans need to hear just how much you hate this bill.
  • If you have a Democratic Senator, they need to hear from you too! Use our call scripts for Democrats to encourage them to stand strong and voice their concerns about this bill.

Call progressives in key red states.

  • You should always only contact YOUR Members of Congress (MoC). We’ve set up our popular peer-to-peer calling tool so that after you’ve called your MoC, you can reach out to progressives in red states, let them know how important their voice is in this fight, and connect them directly to their Senators.
  • Sign up here to make calls using our peer-to-peer tool. You can make calls as much as you want from 9am to 9pm (local time) each and every day to progressives in Alaska, Arizona, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

This bill is bad, bad, bad (if you need a reminder of how bad it is, read up on it here). But we can stop it if we all show up the same way we did for healthcare.

Tune in to Facebook Live TONIGHT at 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT

We have just 5 weeks left of 2017. Tune in tonight to hear about our priorities for the rest of the year: defeating the #TrumpTaxScam and fighting for a clean DREAM Act.

Handwrite the Constitution (Indivisible SF event)

Hosted by Indivisible San Francisco

Celebrate Constitution Day by taking part in a nationwide writing project with Indivisible SF.  We’ll be at Rincon Park on the Embarcadero to collectively hand-copy excerpts of the U.S. Constitution.  How much you choose to write out is at your own discretion.  Even a couple paragraphs can provide real insights.  This action will raise awareness of our rights as citizens, give us a closer connection to the text and its meaning, and provide a space for discussion of what we discover.

  • Google Calendar ICS

Senate Republicans have just voted to start debating the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Join us for Holding Hands for Healthcare, an emergency action of solidarity to protect Obamacare and resist a repeal that would endanger tens of millions of lives.

This participatory activist performance will be starting at 5pm sharp at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, where 78% of the patients are insured under Medicare or Medi-Cal. We'll be meeting in front of the new Zuckerberg building on Potrero Avenue side, a recent addition to Main Building. Please join our circle from any direction.** The goal is to link hands around the entire Main Building complex. For those willing to stay longer, we will hold a “soapbox” social mingling with open mic time to share ACA stories after 5:30pm.

Please wear a white shirt, to which we'll pin a sheet of paper with messaging that people can read even while driving by observing from a distance. Suggested messages: Protect Our Healthcare, Hold Hands To Protect Healthcare, Stand Indivisible.

We are also looking for volunteers to show up a bit earlier, at 4:30pm, to help kickstart the human chain. If you're available and interested, please let us know in the comments!

This peaceful protest is organized by Indivisible SF. It has been inspired by a City Repair Project performance art piece, Hands Around Portland (1996).

Indivisible San Francisco Gay Pride Parade Contingent (San Francisco)

The 2017 San Francisco Pride Board Organizers are featuring a RESISTANCE showing in this year’s Pride Parade, Sunday, June 25th. This is a highly unusual call-to-action for resistance groups to participate in and is the first in their history. We are living in unnerving times requiring unusual action. Pride Organizers seek to have a variety of Bay Area resistance contingents march in the front portion of the parade. (This is a place of honor!) Pride Organizers have a goal of 5,000 Resistance participants. ISF will join this effort wth our own contingent. Our goal is to have 500 participants march in our ISF contingent.

Pride Organizers have requested that we include these three major themes in our contingent: Trans Rights / Black Lives Matter/ and No Ban, No Wall. We have some great ideas that should help bring media attention to the ISF contingent. All we need is your cooperation and to complete your registration. We are awaiting details from the Pride Organizers and we will be contacting you via email with updates and participation info by June 16th, so please watch your emails. Keep Resisting!
