Hosted by Congresswoman Jackie Speier
If you are not sure how President Trump's new tax law will affect you, you are not alone. Congresswoman Jackie Speier invites you to join her for a town hall on Thursday, February 1st at 7 p.m. at the College of San Mateo Theater where we will explore the consequences of the new law.
You will hear from State Senator Jerry Hill for a California perspective and from Russell Stanaland, a tax attorney, Certified Public Accountant and adjunct professor with over 25 years of experience in estate planning, tax planning, and trust administration. He will share his expertise and answer questions. We encourage you to bring your 2016 tax return for reference to some of the questions Mr. Stanaland will address.
One thing we do know for sure is that 83 percent of the Republican tax cuts go to the wealthiest one percent, not the middle class. In fact, 86 million middle class households will see a tax increase. Congresswoman Speier voted against this tax scam and will continue to fight this despicable rip-off. It drains the middle class dry to shower the wealthiest individuals and corporations with cash. The bottom line is this: hardworking Americans should not pay to line the pockets of billionaires and millionaires.
Please register one person per RSVP and bring your confirmation (paper or electronic) to the town hall.
