Volunteer to Clean and Green Oakland (Oakland)

  • Oakland Zoo 9777 Golf Links Road Oakland, CA, 94605 United States (map)

On Saturday, April 22, thousands of volunteers will clean and green more than 90 Oakland locations at the 23rd Annual Oakland Earth Day. Approximately 60 sites are in parks or along creeks and other waterways, and approximately 20 sites will be neighborhood cleanups of streets, sidewalks and schools. Volunteers will pick up litter, remove graffiti, weed and plant, and restore native habitat. Oakland Public Works sponsors this event, with support from the Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District and participation from more than 60 community groups, including Friends of Sausal Creek, Keep Oakland Beautiful and the Lake Merritt Institute.

Local businesses, including Numi Tea, Traditional Medicinal Tea, and Chinook Book are supporting this year’s volunteers with snacks and samples.
